Opening Day

On this day, I began my journey as the founder of Dominion Analytics. The idea for Dominion Analytics actually began long before its founding while my wife and I were competing at the time in Data Science competitions using machine learning to test our algorithms when we coined the name because “We could master any domain with the right analytics.”. Since then, Dominion Analytics has worked towards developing optimized algorithms to aid our understanding of predictive cognitive and behavioral sciences. The basis of the company is inspired by my favorite quote, “As for the future, your task is not to foresee it, but to enable it.” by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry. That quote has been the underlying ethos to my life for nearly a decade now. I have envisioned the future I wanted, and I worked diligently to enable it while mentoring others to do the same. Now that ethos drives my career, education, research and developments. I have always sought the ‘Why’ in everything since I was a child. I would drive my parents crazy constantly asking ‘Why?’, “Why is the sky blue?”, “Why does humanity make the same historical mistakes that they always have?”, “Why do the people around us live the same day every day for decades expecting a different outcome?”. Questions like this drove me crazy and definitely drove my parents crazy, so I dedicated my life to seeking the answers to all of my “Why’s”. I literally spent my life developing some of the greatest technical achievements of my age just to understand “Why”.

Now I realize that those same algorithms that conducted amazing root-cause analyses to so many of my questions can also be used to AB test potential favorable outcomes, but knowing what could be isn’t enough. If we consciously know what could be that is at least socially ethical, we must work to introduce the necessary changes to achieve these outcomes. However, I recognize that I am one man with limited resources and so it is completely irrational to think that I’m going to solve any of these problems especially on my own. My goal, however, with this organization is simply to create and collect intellectual property that in turn may be used to develop the tools that will ultimately enhance or enable those with the resources and capabilities in their pursuit to resolve some of the most pressing challenges in our world today.

If you’d like to sponsor my work and help me compete against other top computer science students developing Machine Learning algorithms, please do so on GitHub Sponsors. Your sponsorship helps me continue my education, maintain my equipment, and focus on developing tools that are learning from the world around us to find solutions to some of the problems that are affecting society today or that may affect us in the future. I sincerely appreciate all of your love and support as I travel through this journey, so please let me know if you’d like me to post any specific content or if you would like to be featured in any of my work. Thank you so much!
