Free Community Health Fair
I am proud to have had the opportunity to organize a free public community health fair for the community of Mendota Virginia. This event was made possible through the generous support of the many members of Lions Clubs of Southwest Virginia, the Health Wagon, the Appalachian College of Pharmacy, the Hiltons Volunteer Fire Dept., SAMS Club, the Mendota Community Association, and Kane St. Smokehouse who has generously provided BBQ for those in attendance.
This event will host free health, vision, and hearing screenings, fire safety education, an easter-egg hunt for the kids, breakfast, and a BBQ lunch (while supplies last).
Breakfast starts at 9AM followed by initial screenings at 10am. There will also be an easter egg hunt for the kids at 11am so come early, because you won’t want to miss us at the Mendota Community Center, the proud home of the Mendota Branch Library.
As Lions, we summarize our mission simply with the statement, we serve where there is a need. There is a great need for broad public services in Mendota and as Bristol Lions we are proud to step up and do what we can to serve our neighbors in Mendota.
Many great supporting organization have stepped up to assist us in making this possible, but nothing helps more than the public’s generosity and willingness to volunteer.
